I attended Florida State University from 1983 to 1985, and the though of joining one of the silly sororities was absolutely abhorrent to me. But joining the "sister" organization of one of the fraternities, Kappa Sigma, was not abhorrent - and in fact, led to a lot of good old fashioned Animal-House style parties! My time as a Starduster did not end well, however, but that is a story for another day. Regardless, one of the best friends I've ever made in my life I met through this organization, and remains a dear and close friend to this day.

I was a Star Duster for Kappa Sigma as well- I was wary but found that the oath they asked me to swear to was an uplifting one, the code of conduct they held me to was as well, and they always treated me like a lady. They were great guys!
ReplyDeleteI was a Kappa Sigma Starduster at Indiana State University from 1979-1983. The chapter lost its charter in 83 (because of some unethical doings by a few people who did not have the best intentions ) but our friendships remain strong in fact we still get together at homecoming and other times during the year!
